What he gave us
Much of what a pilgrim sees and does in Braj today, Narayan Bhatt Ji set in place. Each one comes with its source.

A witness from four hundred years ago
Around 1600, Nabhadas gave him a whole chhappay in the Shri Bhaktamal.
Hari took great care to make this Bhatt, who worshipped the land of Braj, one of a kind. Every hidden holy place of the Mathura mandal that the Varaha Purana describes, Narayan brought to light, and the whole world came to know them. He was an ocean of bhakti's nectar, always among the saints, steeped in rasa and devoted to Krishna alone, and in learning and scripture no one could answer him.

In 1883 the Mathura collector F. S. Growse wrote that every lake and grove in the circuit of Braj got its own name from him.
"it was from him that every lake and grove in the circuit of Braj received a distinctive name"
Source: Growse, 1883In his own words: as the Shrimad Bhagavatam is Krishna Himself among the scriptures, so Braj is Krishna Himself on earth.

Come to Unchagaon
Unchagaon is about a mile west of Barsana, where Lalita Sakhi lived and played with the other sakhis. Here are Narayan Bhatt Ji’s samadhi, the Dauji temple beside it where his Ladle Thakur sits, and Lalita ji’s temple on the hill.
